'The painting “Stay” is one of seven additional paintings from series “Parallels of memory”. The concept of this work is based on a personal story about childhood memories, which reflects a child's naivety about the reality of life, a return to childhood experiences with parents, playing with mom's fingers and building sandcastles on the seashore with dad. Although the house in which I grew up was not perfect, from the children's perspective it was close to perfect, which is a symbol of a sense of security and gave freedom for self-expression. The paintings undeniably depict motifs of loneliness, which explain the longing for home, care and presence that used to seem self-evident, and now empty or missing. The title “Parallels of Memory” is based on my interpretation of everyday conversations with parents and experienced memories through the eyes of children. Intangible expressions of love are depicted – those that were not verbalized, but were felt through everydaycares. For example, the word “I love” was never said, which characterizes the post-Soviet era, where emotional intimacy was often expressed in actions, not words. Parents avoid talking about the past and experiences, even do not remember much of it or choose not to tell, so the work is a depiction of these moments that parents have nevertheless expressed, through my emotional understanding and feelings. The work can partly be called a documentary, which records and leaves a physical representation of experiences, but they are based on fragmentary memories that have been preserved over time have been deformed or lost and remained not in visual memory, but in emotional consciousness.'
