"ROT" was created from the early months of winter until mid-spring. The color red was only visible on book covers, commercial posters and blood-stained clothing. For Eduards Tutiņš, this winter was particularly cold as he felt utterly isolated and detached from the world. Hence, he decided to create a hot place full of living beings where visible paths only led to uncertainty and more confusion, but time for situational evaluation was a luxury.
