Anastasija Bikova (1990) works creatively across painting, installation, metal art, and jewelry design. She integrates her experiences in painting and metalwork, interpreting materiality as a symbolic point of reference, reducing it to a conceptual idea. Since 2013, she has actively participated in exhibitions, international art symposiums, plein-air workshops, and other art events. At the forefront of her artistic interests are the plasticity of the human body and eco-philosophy.

In the artist's practice, the initial impression of the image on the viewer holds significant importance. Emotionally rich and deep background colors, nuanced tones of the body, as well as expressive, dynamic brushstrokes create an existential connection between form and subject. The visual message is primarily based on the viewer’s emotional perception. In this way, the painterly execution becomes a key carrier of symbolic meaning. The human body is the only object we understand most deeply. Therefore, when faced with a visual representation of the body, we often intuitively associate it with ourselves, forming a personal and direct perceptual link—forgetting that it is merely an image. In her works, the artist does not aim to precisely replicate human anatomical or visual likeness, but rather to evoke the sensation of bodily presence. Colors and brushstrokes organically shape the general forms of the body, serving as emotionally and visually encoded means of expression.
