“Skapis” symbolises looking into oneself and one’s subconscious “closet”, where memories, experiences and stages of life are stored. In the center is a portrait of the artist’s daughter – through her the artist looks at herself, her inner world and life course. Each object in the painting reflects a specific event or period of life that has left an imprint and shaped today’s “me”. This work is very personal for the artist – it is not only a closet of memories, but also the author’s symbolic step out of it.
